Chu Da-xion was born 1939 in Szechuan Province,
China. At sixteen he entered the Central Art institute. There, he
was taught by the famous professor Koh Ki Shun in traditional ink
wash painting. Many of the paintings of this period are owned by the
Gallery of the Palace Museum.
Chu's work has been frequently shown at the
Beijing Portrait and Landscape Art Exhibition. He continued his
graduate studies under the tutelage of three renowned masters in
traditional Chinese painting, professors Oian-yu ye, Ke-ran Li and
Zhao-he Jiang. He graduated the Central Art Institute in 1980
with a Master of Fine Arts Degree.
