The Timeless Beauty of
Chinese Art
Chu Da-xiong's Ink wash
Paintings are a stunning example of this ancient art form.
Ranked by critics as one of China's great artists of the
Twentieth Century, Chu Da-xiong depicts traditional Chinese culture
with an intimacy and sensitivity unrivaled by any other
Chinese painter.
Chu Da-xiong stunned the Japanese art world with his show in
Tokyo and his unmistakable talent. He was proclaimed by Tokyo's
top newspapers as the "number one" artist of ink and
wash painting.
Chu Da-xiong went on to receive the highest world price ever
paid for a single ink and wash painting. That fact alone
places him among the top artists in the world today.
"Fabulous scenes are to be seen along the Li River," Chu writes, "as it flows through Kweilin southward toward Yangshuo." Chu has visited the area three times. This painting attempts to show the vibrant yet mysterious atmosphere brought about by the rapidly-changing weather conditions.
The painting shown, "Wind and Rain on River Li" has been sold.
New paintings of his will be displayed and subsequently offered for sale. Questions or comments? Please
